Welcome Statement: Ralph Alpacora welcomed eight new guests.He thanked Sally Uhler and the hospitality hostesses for the group efforts for the wonderful refreshments provided for the general meetings.
Secretary / Minutes:
The proposed minutes for the JANUARY 2015 General Membership Meeting will be on the SHGC website for review within a week of next scheduled SHGC General meeting.
JANUARY 2015 minutes was presented by Gilda Gambacurta and seconded by Carol Zieres.
The minutes of the JANUARY 2015 General Meeting are now approved.
Treasurer Report: Pat Gilliland reports our current balance is $2,157.35
Membership: Geri Yerkes reports103 members.
Committee Reports/Old Business combined:
Carol Zieres reminded members of the field trip to Mixon Farms on Wednesday, March 18. (This is taking the place of the SHGC general monthly meeting for March.) A final email will be sent out with the times to meet and directions.
Linda Howard reported that the SHGC will not participate in the Kiwanis Bloomin Chalk Festival on Sunday, March 22, 2015.There isn’t enough time to put together a successful plant sale.
Sally Uhler is resigning from the Hospitality chairperson – a new chairperson/assistant chairperson is needed.
The SHGC board members are continuing to keep their positions, except Linda Howard as recording secretary.Jo Clark will be taking that board position. The club is in need of a new communications/publishing committee person. Please contact Ralph if you are interested.
A Garden award was given to a home in Clearwater- A Garden award chairperson is needed.
Skip Meadows reminded everyone that dues need to be paid by the April 2015 Annual Picnic.
There will not be a SHGC General meeting in April due to the Annual Picnic for members in good standing.More information will be sent via email.
Our next General Membership meeting is MAY 20, 2015 – 9:30am at the Museum

Bring a nice healthy plant to share.The earlier you come, the better – you’ll receive a number to pick a new plant for yourself.(The early bird gets the worm – so to speak!!!)
